Our Approach

Our curriculum is deeply inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and grounded in meaningful, play-based learning. We view children as capable, curious, and full of potential, and we honor play as the primary vehicle for discovery in the early years. Through open-ended materials, hands-on exploration, and thoughtfully designed environments, teachers act as attentive guides and extend each child’s interests into rich, authentic experiences.

Our classrooms reflect a blend of languages and traditions that honor each child’s identity and family background. As part of the diverse Contra Costa County and greater East Bay community, we intentionally create an environment where culture and language are celebrated every day. When children grow in a space rich in culture and connection, they also grow in empathy, understanding, and a deep sense of belonging.

Nurturing Relationships

At the heart of Seedlings is a deep respect for the relationships that shape each child’s earliest years. In our infant and toddler program, serving children 4–36 months, we understand that secure, responsive connections are the foundation for all learning. We cultivate a warm, welcoming environment where babies and young toddlers feel safe to explore, express themselves, and take meaningful risks at their own pace.
