FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What ages do you serve?

Our Butterfly class is between the ages of 4 and 17 months and our Ladybug class is between the ages of 18 and 36 months.

  • Do you offer part-time care?

Yes! We have multiple part-time options, including 3-days per week or 2-days per week. Part-day options are offered on an as-needed basis.

  • Do you accept childcare subsidies?

We are proud affiliates of the CoCoKids and Stage II programs, providing affordable childcare to qualifying families.

  • Do you provide food?

We provide two healthy snacks per day, as well as whole milk, to children aged 12+ months. Snacks are always nut-free and aligned with allergy and dietary restrictions. We also accommodate alternative milk options (like soy or oat milk) for those that need it. Families are expected to provide lunch for their child each day, and children under one year old bring all of their food from home.

  • What are your teacher-to-child ratios?

In our Butterfly room, our ratio is 1:4 and our Ladybug class ratio is 1:6 with a maximum capacity of 12 children per room. Our goal is to have at least one extra teacher in each classroom at all times to allow for consistent and attentive care for all children.

  • Is your program truly Reggio Emilia?

Our center pulls inspiration from Reggio Emilia and the Project Approach while interweaving our own experiences and beliefs as educators. This means that we provide a collective of play based learning, long term projects, and open-ended materials to encourage whole-child growth and development.

  • Do you offer bilingual support?

Yes! Many of our teachers are native Spanish speakers, and we encourage the growth of both the Spanish and English language in both of our classrooms. Materials and resources are always made accessible to Spanish-speaking families, including our parent handbook. Messages are always translated into Spanish for those that need it, and there is always someone on site to help communicate to any staff member that doesn’t speak Spanish.

  • What makes Seedlings different than other centers in the area?

At Seedlings, we offer high-quality infant and toddler care at a reasonable rate for families just like yours. We understand that, as parents, it’s difficult to find a center that genuinely understands and cares for children in their classrooms. Not only do we hire experienced and passionate teachers, but we also provide opportunities for them to continue their growth as educators so that they’re always knowledgeable on industry best-practices. Our daily routines are rooted in empathy and dignity for all children, staff, and families who walk through our doors, and we take pride in knowing that we can offer some relief from the external stressors that so many of us face. Our priority, after child safety, is community; once you’re part of the Seedlings family, you’re in our hearts forever.
